Free advice to make sure you're prepared for anything

Changes to technology, the economy and many different aspects of your business can mean that your staff suddenly need new skills in order to do their best in their roles. But it’s not always easy to see where those skills gaps are – or how to fill them.

That’s where Skills for Growth comes in. This free service offers up to two days of expert business consultancy.

What’s involved in Skills for Growth?

Skills for Growth is a free skills consultancy service for your business. After meeting an employee engagement advisor to discuss your current challenges and goals, you’ll get up to two days of expert business consultancy. During this time, a consultant from Remarkable will speak to you and your staff, assessing the skills strengths and development areas of your business.

At the end of this consultancy period, your consultant will provide you with a detailed action plan to develop the skills your workforce needs. Your consultant will recommend training programmes where needed, and where there is funding available to cover part of the cost, they will help you access it.

Turn change into opportunity

When you run a business, facing change head-on is all part of the job. There are all kinds of unexpected challenges that can mean your team needs a new approach – and Skills for Growth can help. Here are just a few examples:

The change in the UK’s relationship with the EU, and as a result with countries all over the world, is one of the biggest potential issues facing Scottish businesses. While the full extent of the effects won’t be known for some time, it’s clear that many businesses will need new methods and new skills to adapt.

Downsizing and redundancies

Making the decision to reduce staff is difficult for any business. But with all the hardship of downsizing comes the opportunity to focus more heavily on the staff who remain. It may be that they need reskilling or upskilling in order to thrive and to improve the fortunes of your business.

Use the free PACE service for support if you are making redundancies or going through redundancy yourself.

Advances in technology

This is one change that no employer can escape. Work as we know it is changing rapidly, with rapid progress in technology meaning in the future more and more traditional skills will be automated. This means new skills will move front and centre – and for businesses to succeed in this new climate, building those skills in advance will be essential.
