If you have to make redundancies, our experienced advisers can make sure you and your employees are supported through this stressful time.

Partnership Action for Continuing Employment (PACE) is the Scottish Government’s initiative to help individuals and employers during redundancy situations.

PACE supports businesses of any size, no matter how many employees are involved. It’s free of charge, and can help take away some of the strain of dealing with redundancy.

How can PACE help?

Through PACE, your staff will get support from public sector partners like SDS, JobCentre Plus, local authorities, Citizen’s Advice, colleges and training providers. We are experiences, know the labour market and can help staff move on.

Steps involved in PACE support:

  1. Our local PACE advisers visit your business, talk to your employees and understand their needs.
  2. We’ll bring in the right partners from across the public sector and provide free, impartial advice.
  3. We’ll help your staff in their job search, giving support with CVs, applications, interviews and training opportunities.
  4. We can also support them to claim state benefits, understand their tax calculation and manage their money.

Finding experienced staff through PACE

Even if you are not making redundancies in your own business, PACE can help you. PACE advisors may be able to connect you with recently redundant people whose skill set matches your business. It's a win-win situation; you will get a new member of staff with plenty of relevant experience to their name, and someone facing redundancy will get a smooth transition to a new role.
