There's much more to financial services than working in a bank. From cyber security to insurances and investments, there are lots of exciting opportunities on offer.
Pupils can get a taste of what working in financial services is like with a three-day work placement through the Unified Schools Programme.
Companies in Scotland such as BlackRock, Baillie Gifford, Deloitte, Bank of Scotland, HSBC, JP Morgan and more will give pupils an insight into careers they didn't know existed and show how some of the biggest financial services companies are run.
By taking part in the programme, pupils will:
Register for Marketplace and join a growing community who are already engaging with schools through events, workshops and placements.
Create the placement opportunity specific to your business with relevant information. Make sure to add 'USP' at the start of your opportunity so your local DYW group know it's part of the programme. They'll approve it, and then teachers can book it through My World of Work.
Once a pupil has expressed an interest in your opportunity, the DYW group will collect together the applications and pass them over for your approval before arranging for the placement to start.
This short video shows you how to upload your work experience placement on Marketplace:
Download the pupil booklet and mentor booklet for use during the work placements below. Use the educator presentation to give young people more information about the financial services industry and the Unified Schools Programme.
