A Certificate of Work Readiness (CWR) can help you grow your business and transform participants' lives.

Just ask Amber Hay, an admin assistant who completed the work placement. She is pictured with Mandy Ironside, a tutor at West College Scotland.

“I have cerebral palsy and walk with a frame. Since the beginning of the CWR I feel my confidence has increased greatly and also socially I feel more included. The support put in place and guidance has shown me that I am in more than capable of doing the job. I have applied for a council house to live on my own and lead a more independent life.”

Five ways you can change lives through a CWR

  1. You’ll build a person’s confidence, grow their skills and help them get on the first rung of the career ladder.
  2. You’ll be instrumental in them gaining an SQA qualification.
  3. You could lead them down the route to a job or Modern Apprenticeship.
  4. You’re playing a vital role in building Scotland’s future workforce.
  5. The certificate has been created to help primarily 16 to 19 year olds into a job, although it is open to anyone who needs support getting into work.
