Your workplace of the future starts here

As our young people prepare to begin jobs, we’d like to give them a helping hand while they’re still at school. Foundation Apprenticeships have been designed specifically to support our younger generations as they move into the world of work, harnessing their strengths while addressing employers’ skills needs. Not only are they bold and progressive, they work. We encourage you to spot and shape Scotland’s young talent so that your business develops as they do.

Closing the gap between the classroom and work

Foundation Apprenticeships in their purest form are industry-recognised qualifications that offer secondary school pupils in their senior phase time out of school to study at college and learn on the job with local employers.

Equivalent to a Higher (SCQF6) two-year, the FA is completed alongside their other subjects which can then lead into a Modern Apprenticeship.

By giving young people earlier exposure to the world of work, we help them to identify what they’re good at and develop the skills, experience and knowledge that employers want.
