A good place to start is by downloading the SCQF recruitment and staff selection guide . This useful guide shows you how to allocate an SCQF level to a job description - helping you describe the skills of the job and understand the sort of candidate you might need. 

Once you are comfortable with the basics, download the employer levelling tool.

This tool gives you an idea of the skills and competencies expected from individuals at each SCQF level. It gives you the language and terminology you need to write an effective person specification.
